Ambreia Artistry Photography is a DMV portrait studio that serves expectant and new moms across Virginia, Maryland and Washington DC. Our client above wanted a unique aspect added to her maternity session. She wanted to include her son, MV and have her first professional portraits with him. He came along during COVID and she didn’t get to have maternity photos, either. She decided that nude motherhood photos would be perfect! She chose our DMV studio as the team to document this season of her life.

As we prepared to capture these image of this gorgeous 2 time mama during her maternity session, her sweet son became cranky and needed lots of cuddles. I assured her that we would still capture gorgeous photos while he was napping. He nuzzled in close to his sanctuary, her arms. He quickly succumbed to his fatigue. My mind went into documentary mode. I captured the details of their love that I want to be remembered forever!

While this is a unique Motherhood session, one of the key goals of a motherhood session is to document the details of the way that the mother and child interact! Details like his feet, eyelashes and the way his body falls into hers. Her embrace was so sweet. She was on the cusp of becoming a mother of two, no longer able to devote all of her love to just her baby boy. She and I chatted about the transition to loving more than one child more than life itself. As a mother of 4, I can tell you that your heart just grows to love them all beyond measure!

We’ve even incorporated her culture and family heirlooms into this session with her jewelry! Her sweet son called them “decorations”! This made me swoon even more! He’s the sweetest and I can’t wait to welcome this family back to my studio one day!

Being a DMV based portrait studio, we create memories for families from a myriad of cultures and backgrounds! One of the concepts that I would love to do, is a baby on the back session!
